Personalized sessions can be especially helpful to work with limitations in movement that cause discomfort. The FELDENKRAIS® Practioner's job is to discover your movement capacity and then use verbal guidance and their hands to lead your body through gentle movements which invite the brain to better coordinate your muscles and bones. These sessions are usually very relaxing and enjoyable.

I will customize your sessions to maximize your ability to move with lightness & ease, play your sport or instrument better, or improve your balance and agility. Because improving movement produces new neural connections, shifts in brain function achieved leave clients feeling more positive and capable, and can lead to new levels of creativity.

Group Movement Lessons inspired by Moshe Feldenkrais:
provide a gentle exploration of neurophysiological movement patterns that underlie efficiency in human movement. Students lie on comfortable mats, or sit in chairs, while an instructor verbally guides them through a series of movements. These movement lessons provide a learning opportunity for students to notice how their skeleton and muscles are designed to function and to incorporate these insights into their movement in a gentle, non-goal-oriented approach. This learning is in part cognitive, and in part, a sensory process, composed of expanding a person's capacity to sense subtle differences in areas such as weightedness, effort, and direction.

What's truly revolutionary about these group classes is that the very process of paying attention to your movement stimulates highly beneficial growth in your brain's neural networks. Essentially, you're getting more coordinated and smarter by gently moving your body! Experimenting with your own movements in a non-judgmental process, exploring their variety and noticing how smaller components fit together into a greater whole, simultaneously strengthens the left brain's analytical capacities and the right brain's capacity for creativity, recognizing "the whole picture", and making innovative connections between disparate parts. These brain functions are the foundation for excellent coping skills in a changing world.
