“Having never been to an improv theater performance before last year and after going once, I couldn't stay away. I went to at least six. They were fun, innovative, and humorous. A great way to spend an evening.”
In San Francisco a frightening number of years ago, the best theater fun available was the Committee, a wonderful combination of skilled improvisation and thrilling audience participation. The same delights are available today, right here in Sonoma County, at the Sixth Street Improv. Don't miss them! The delight is guaranteed nonstop!
Daring, clever, quick, laugh-out-loud funny. Everyone has fun - the players and the audience.
All shows are totally improvised. I have been to every show and look forward to more. I found 6th St. Improv to be real, refreshing, funny, and it brought up other emotions for me that caused an expansion in my paradigm. Audience members can become players through their suggestions and input. It is exciting to watch each scene unfold with sometimes a very different outcome.
“The gang of marauding improvisors over at 6th Street attack their medium with the same fascination, focus, and joyful urgency of a quarterback about to get slaughtered while unleashing the last second Hail Mary pass that wins the bloody Super Bowl.”

Theatresports Invitational, featuring the best local comedy improv groups. More details coming soon!
If you've never seen 6th Street Improv, you're in for a treat! Always fresh and funny, the troupe specializes in providing laughter therapy for their community. Their founder, Bridget Palmer, says, "We hope to inspire our community to embrace their creativity,
to risk taking chances, and to reach out to one another. Remember, laughter heals!"
6th Street Improv started performing in January 2009 to sold out houses. The newly appointed Artistic Director, Steve Page, is a well-loved
Sebastopol healer and performer. The shows are created for an adult audience, but have been enjoyed by numerous children (age 9+).
The language and themes generally don't surpass a PG-13 movie but everything is made up on
the spot, so you never know quite what will happen. You can see 6th Street Improv in Santa Rosa at The 6th Street Playhouse at 52 W.
6th St., in the historic Railroad Square district. Shows sell out often, so advanced ticket purchase is advised.
